Welcome to Hellenic Social Mediation Center!
Hellenic Social Mediation Center is a non-profit organization. Its main objective is to promote and establish Mediation procedures in Greece.

Mediation is a well-known practice of conflict resolution, which can take place in everyday social life as well as in legal context. Despite the existence of cultural differences among people and countries, Mediation is increasingly applied worldwide.
Having its roots in indigenous communities, ancient Greece, Rome Empire, and Asian countries, Mediation is commonly used today in a variety of contexts (such as community, family, school, workplace, civil and criminal law) and regardless of age, gender, nationality and socio-economic background of individuals.
Mediation is a process that provides a neutral and structured context in which the parties are equal and supported by a trained mediator in order to reach a mutually agreed solution to their dispute, conflict or any other problem.
As such, Mediation is described as:
